Online Piano Lessons for Kids Lessons with Expert Teachers

Children learn piano best in short, playful, well-paced lessons with a teacher who knows how to hold a young learner's attention. The teachers on this page work regularly with children from around four years old upward and are used to keeping parents in the loop about what to practise between lessons.

Online lessons remove the drive across town, which for a busy family often makes the difference between lessons sticking and lessons quietly stopping. Parents can sit in or nearby, and everything is booked lesson by lesson.

Online kids' piano lessons — FAQs

What's a good age to start piano?+

Many children are ready between five and seven. Some four-year-olds do well in shorter thirty-minute lessons; your teacher will tell you honestly after a trial.

Will my child sit still for an online lesson?+

Teachers who work with children plan lessons in short segments — a game, a piece, some listening — which holds attention far better than one long block.

Do I need to sit with my child?+

For younger children, yes, at least for the first few lessons to help with setup and note down practice. Older children are usually fine alone.

Should my child do exams?+

Only if it motivates them. Graded exams give useful structure, but plenty of our young students simply learn music they love.

How long are lessons for children?+

Thirty minutes suits most under-tens; forty-five to sixty minutes works well from about age ten upward.
