Dr. Jose Rosa

Born in Humacao, Puerto Rico, Dr. Jose M. Rosa began playing percussion at age five and received formal training at the Escuela Libre de Música under Professors José “Tito” Rivera and José “Pepe” Torres. He later studied at the Puerto Rico Conservatory of Music with Professor José Alicea and performed with the America Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Dr. Rosa earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the University of Central Florida, a Master of Music in Music Technology and Game Audio Production from Southern Utah University, a Doctor of Education in Applied Learning Science from the University of Miami, and a Master of Education in Global Education from Arizona State University.

Throughout his career, he has performed with internationally acclaimed artists, including Arturo Sandoval, Tito Puente, Giovanni Hidalgo, Néstor Torres, Greg Bissonette, Liam Teague, the Gypsy Kings, and many others. His professional credits also include performances at Walt Disney World and Universal Studios Florida.

Today, Dr. Rosa is an educator, performer, recording musician, and director of the Contemporary Drums and Percussion Certificate Program. He is proudly endorsed by Pearl Drums, Paiste Cymbals, Remo Drumheads, ProMark Drumsticks, Purecussion Percussion, and Cympad.
