Jesse Bettis

Hi There! My name is Jesse Bettis and I am an opera singer, voice teacher and can teach beginner piano lessons.

Voice Lessons: I have a Masters in vocal performance which included a 2 year voice pedagogy program. I also have 8 years of experience teaching lessons. I have prepped people for performances, and auditions making sure that they can sing in an easy and secure way. I have also prepped students for quarterly recital performance with music studios that I have worked with.

I have a kinesthetic approach when it comes to singing. Basically, that means you'll learn what anatomy you use for singing, and learn how to work with it. This includes breath support, posture, how to do any easy onset and much more. We will also identify any unnecessary tension that may inhibit your singing. I am comfortable working with any music style. Although I am trained in opera, there certain things that are fundamentally the same to all singing.

Piano:

I only teach beginning piano. If you are curious about piano and what it takes to play well, I can teach you all the basics. You will learn to play basic scales, and chords, and different warm ups to build skills relevant to the pieces you are working. I usually work with people for a year, and then we evaluate whether it's time to work with someone best suited for intermediate students.
